12 AM: Dig out glow-in-the-dark Dora the Explorer toothbrush. Remember last visit to the dentist. Floss.
12:16 AM: Set alarm for 12:37, braid hair to prevent bothersome tangling, and climb into bed.
12:49 AM: Wake up, grumble loudly about oversleeping, get a bowl of cocoa puffs from the kitchen, and settle into the den to watch Gilmore Girls.
3 AM: Rouse self from couch and enter Wardrobe. Try on a blue skirt and decide it still feels as weird tonight as it did the night before; dig out a pair of trousers (denim, blue), shirt (cotton, brown), jacket (leather, light brown), and a scarf (wool, cream).
3:19 AM: Eye pile of heeled shoes and wonder, for the umptieth time, how they got there. Locate pair of black boots you wore three days ago.
3:23 AM: Locate pair of boots you didn’t forget to wash clean of mud three days ago.
3:31 AM: Decide to fix companions wristwatch as a surprise; retrieve timepiece from jacket you hid it in after nicking it from companion’s dresser.
5:40 AM: Attempt to learn the Macarena from the Animaniacs while companion’s watch lies in pieces on the table.
8 AM: Companion wakes up.
8:22 AM: Explain to companion over breakfast how much better watch is now.
8:26 AM: Wonder who put grumpy tablets in companion’s breakfast.
9 AM: Enough of this tedium. It’s time for an adventure!
