SWEET SIXTEEN!

For this occasion, the TARDIS ballroom is decked out with banners and all manner of things that are strangely appropriate and much better than anything the Doctor could come up with. (The TARDIS decorated it herself.) There's food everywhere, with a certain tilt towards strawberry-banana smoothies, bananas, and jelly babies, and those little finger foods on toothpicks. There's even a banner that says "HAPPY BIRTHDAY" on it, and "SWEET SIXTEEN". (The 'hundred' was tactfully left out.)

The birthday girl herself has a strawberry-banana smoothie nicked from one of the tables and is now eyeing the decorations with a certain amount of confusion.

It's possible somebody forgot her birthday. It's hard, what with all the time-traveling and relative timelines. Good thing the TARDIS is here to take care of it! :D

{Right, so, birthday party post! This is going to be a load of multi-fandom meta goodness, so don't worry if you're in a community Eleven's in or anything. Just show up and bring presents. The Doctor likes presents. :D}

"Too many to count," Ace shook her head. "I'll less for asking them questions and more for blowing them up, running from them, or in the case of devious politicians I like to depose them."

"I accidentally deposed the Matriarch of Peladon, once, because of evil twins! But we put her right back! I blow stuff up a lot as well, sometimes even on purpose!" Dennis looked around to make sure the Doctor wasn't listening, then leaned in and whispered (rather loudly, there was a party going on), "have you noticed, though, wherever the Doctor decides to go to, the TARDIS always picks the nearest point in space and time to there where there's a big event and monsters and badies and stuff to fight? I think it does it on purpose!"

"Some things never change. She's been doin' that for at least 700 years, probably longer." Ace realized that she still had the rest of the chocolate frog in her hand and ate it. "So does the Doctor still frown when people blow things up?"

Dennis nodded. "And says 'Dennis!' And when we go places and there are controls and things the Doctor always goes 'Don't touch any buttons!', sometimes before I've even looked at them! And then," Dennis complained, "later, when we're doing the running part, the Doctor says 'press that button!' and when I say 'you told me not to!', he goes 'Dennis!!' at me again! Does your Doctor always say 'I'll explain later' and then never does?"

Dennis offered her the bag of frogs again.

"Which one do you travel with? Be because that sounds like mine, at least when I started w' him. He lets me press buttons now. Sometimes. He's well bad at the explaining part, though." Ace looked warily at the chocolate frogs, but decided to go for a second one.

They're tasty and nutritious! Well, okay, no, nutritious is a lie. But they are tasty.

"The tenth incarnation! He's rude and not ginger! And sometimes the eleventh incarnation! She's a she, you know! I don't think I'd like to regenerate, unless I could still look like me, but be a bit taller!" Dennis held his hand up above his head as high as he could to demonstrate the desired height. "Then it'd be okay!"

He ate another chocolate frog.

"I've met them both, but haven't traveled with either. Mine's the Seventh, Scottish and well devious but the best mate ever." Ace took a bite of the second frog. Still weird, but worth it for the flavour. "I wouldn't mind regenerating, especially not if it meant living as long as a Time Lord does."

Dennis shook his head. "You're not allowed to cross your own timeline, so you'd outlive all your friends and not be able to see them again, and, anyway, even if you did cross your timeline, there would a crowd of yous around all the time, and you'd never get a word in edgeways! I wouldn't like that at all! I think that's why the Doctor never stays places long, so there's always a last chance to come back for a few minutes when he really misses people!"
